Model of the Day – Arlenis Sosa Peña – Dominican Republic

This week’s Hermosaz Model of the Day is young Dominican Model, Arlenis Sosa Peña. She is currently the spokes-model for Lancome and has appeared in the 2008 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

At first, Arlenis had to face a lot of prejudice from designers for being dark skinned and not being able to speak English. She was quickly signed on to become a model and soon after became a featured editor for Vogue. She has made her runway debut by walking for Banana Republic and famous designers like Alexander Wang, Dior, Hermes, Michael Kors, and more.

Arlenis is proud of her Dominican and Afro-Latina heritage, as she paves the way for similar looking girls and models to join the modeling industry. When she’s not busy with her modeling career, she loves to go back to her country to visit her family and friends.
