What do you like about being Latina?

I love our style, wherever we go people always say “she is Latina.” I love our food, taste, music, dances etc.

What does fashion mean to you and how would you define your style?

I love fashion, and for me it is very important since I am queen of one of the most important carnivals in my country and I have to always be well dressed! I would say that my style is elegant but at the same time sexy and very bright.

Who is your fashion icon?

Coco Chanel definitely for its elegance.

How does your culture influence your personal style?

I love the culture of my country, I think that in my day to day it does not influence so much but when I have to dress in something typical of my country I do it with great pride.

If your life was a movie, what should be the title?

I think it would be called "life behind the crown."

What actresses or models do you think have the best style?

For me, definitely Jennifer Lopez, the years go by and she always looks impeccable.

Latinx community is powering through this year and this brings music to our ears because our community is finally showing their potential nation wide. Brands in our community come from beauty to fashion to skin care. These lantix brands are Latina-owned brands making a big impact to the beauty and fashion community. They all have a significance towards why they are a brand and have amazing products as well.

Mia del mar is a skincare company who is based in the 305 (Miami), they have an amazing Instagram feed which gives all Latinx vibes and we are loving it! Their skincare product is a night cream which brings hydration to your face literally overnight. Their night cream improves daytime oil control, rehydrates to stop loss of moisture and boost collagen. It also protects anti aging which brings sagging, fine lines and wrinkles. I personally gave this cream a try and it did give me that glow all summer!

All latinas can say #relatable with this brand because it really brings back old school vibes in how we were raised in a latino family. This brand promotes Latina pride and power, Rachel Gomez who is the founder of this brand has brought not only a clothing shop but a movement. Some of her tees have sayings such as “Allergic to Pendejas”, “Mujeres Can Do Anything” and “Siempre en la Calle”.Their brand provides us with cellphone cases, clothing, Jewelry and accessories.

Viva Cosmetics is a vegan and cruelty-free lipstick line, founder Joanna Rosario and Leslie Valdivia are the masterminds of this brand who want to empower Latinas with our heritage and culture all in one as their headline states on their website -“Beauty con Cultura”. All their lipstick names have a cultural significance such as “Wepa, Cumbia, Spanglish”. Their products run from liquid lippies to matte lipsticks they are long wear lasting and very pigmented, can’t you just tell by their colorful packaging?
