The most important step is to have a primer that is oil free. Having a primer that is oil free will help you maintain a less shiny face throughout the day. My favorite primer that helps with both oil control and texture is the e.l.f.

A step I never forget to do is make sure I set my whole face with powder. The Maybelline Fit me

It claims to last 24hrs, and although I have not worn it for that long, I have worn it for a full 12 hours and I was very impressed.
