What do you like about being Latina?

I love how united Latinos are. We’re strong people that are always striving for a better future. We’re hard workers and we‘re not about giving up. Growing up I spent a lot of time with my grandparents in Mexico, so I was able to fully live and take part in our rich culture. Also, I love the food!

What’s something about you that people would be surprised to know?
Besides English/Spanish I speak French. I also grew up in two places at once. #bordergirl

What are your favorite colors and outfits that make up most of your closet?

It used to be a lot of black and blues, but as of late I really love everything from lilac to pink, orange and yellow. Pretty much bright and pastels.

What trends are big in your city?

I live in New York, so anything goes. Right now I’m seeing a lot of tailored suits, dad sneakers, teddy coats (it’s still cold here!), and always denim.

What is your favorite brand/designer? What do you like about that brand?

This is tough as I don’t have just one favorite brand or designer, there are too many great ones! But lately I’ve loved Ganni, Nanushka, Everlane, everything at Lisa Says Gah! and Tictail. I love discovering indie brands and new and up and coming designers.

Which actresses or models do you believe have the best style?

Hmmm this may sound cliché but I actually like Kendall Jenner’s style. I also really like Emma Watson’s style and I think Salma Hayek is always looking so chic. However, I don’t follow any of them on Instagram.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years and what are your goals?

In 5 years, I hope to have a better understanding of my personal brand and the type of content I want to offer. Not sure if I’ll still be in New York, but no matter what, I know I want to continue to be involved in fashion and hopefully inspire others through my content.

Lilibeth Bustos Linares

Lilibeth Bustos Linares

What do you like about being Latina?

I like to come from a country where we have many problems, and based on that we always fight to see our dreams come true. The concept of food and family is probably something that I love the most as a Latina. I grew up in a family where my father worked for many hours in a job that wasn’t the fanciest one, but he is an excellent example of persistence. Now, living in the USA, I bring with me all this kindness, happiness and courage from Colombia.

What’s something about you that people would be surprised to know?

Ha ha ha, I don’t know…. I’m the same Lilibeth everywhere, an open book who likes to connect with others and share her experiences or stories. But probably not everyone knows where I met my husband. Every time I share with somebody else where I met him, they are amazed. Hahaha ok, Here we go! I met my husband at the Beach on a beautiful sunny day in San Francisco 3 years ago. I asked him where the bathroom was, as an excuse to talk to him, and that day we ended up eating “arepas” in Pica Pica. Isn’t a cute love story to share?

What are your favorite colors and outfits that make up most of your closet?

The colorful ones! I love to have and create my style with all of them. Although I do have white and black pieces to balance my outfits.

What trends are big in your city?

San Francisco is a city that has a significant diversity of cultures. I think depends on the season, you can find good stuff around. Some trends can very relaxed and hippie but others can be very fancy and luxury.

What is your favorite brand/designer? What do you like about that brand?

I have been working for different entrepreneur designers in the city, and those have probably been my favorite. What I love about them, is their original, handcraft and creativity in their pieces plus the sustainability aspects that help communities around the world. For example, Sara Melissa is an incredible handcraft leather shoe designer who donates 5% of her income to a foundation in Nicaragua, and Totonga Bomoi works with women in Congo creating handcrafted head wraps and bow ties, helping them to bring some income to their families.

Which actresses or models do you believe have the best style?

There are a lot of beautiful models, and all of them have great style, but I have my favorite! She is a Colombian model; her name is Toya Montoya, she is beautiful and natural. Her style is full of colors that combine with nature, and you can see the happiness from her heart. She is also helping communities share the message of taking care of some natural areas in Colombia like Tayrona Park in Santa Marta, Colombia.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years and what are your goals?

I see myself with my own fashion business, helping empower women and taking care of the environment. My goals are to continue studying and learning more about sustainability and business. I believe that life feels better when we give more.

What do you like about being Latina?

When you are Latina, you are a strong woman, you can obtain everything you set out to get, you can fight against adversity and you do it almost effortlessly for the people you love and for yourself. Your goals and your family are the most important.

What’s something about you that people would be surprised to know?

What people don't know is that I am a teacher for children with hearing and language difficulties. Sometimes I don't believe how lucky I am to be able to make a difference with the little ones, my daily work makes me happy.

What are your favorite colors and outfits that make up most of your closet?

I need all the colors, although this spring I prefer yellow and red more (every season I focus on a different color).

What trends are big in your city?

The oversize trend is taking over in my city, but the important thing is to adapt it to your style, because as Coco Chanel said "fashion changes but style lasts." This quote for me is one of the most important when it comes to fashion.

What is your favorite brand/designer? What do you like about that brand?

I really like Gucci, but I usually wear many types of brands. I try to make the looks I publish on my networks accessible to all women and maybe that's why my profile is liked a lot, I am a normal, natural girl, with affordable clothes which I try to impose my style with, and not in the form of a fashion trend.

Which actresses or models do you believe have the best style?

Uff ... This is difficult, I may love Kendall Jenner, but I can not ignore some actresses like Penelope Cruz with her red carpet looks or Angelina Jolie with casual, simple and everyday looks that I love and that are the basis of inspiration for many.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years and what are your goals?

I see myself continuing to work with children with difficulties, but also doing important things in the world of fashion and forming my own family. I know those are many things, and many will say that it's not possible, but we are Latinas, we are strong and we can take on everything

What do you like about being Latina?

I personally love absolutely everything about being Latina. I love our innate fire, our passion, our romanticism and our spark to live life. I love how intense we can be when it comes to reaching our goals, how intense we can be in el amor and how determined we can be in overcoming any obstacle that comes our way.

Everywhere I go, people automatically know I'm a Latina and they think its so sexy and unique. It makes me feel exotic as well! Last but not least, I love how Latina's are slowly but surely conquering the world together. We all feel so proud and excited for each other's accomplishments that we help each other rise so we can all reach the top.

What’s something about you that people would be surprised to know?
I grew up being the chubby, tomboyish ugly girl in school! I knew nothing about fashion, makeup, styling, etc. I had bruises in my legs and preferred paintball matches over girls night any day of the week.

I was always surrounded with boys and loved playing sports so I had no idea I would ever be interested in the beauty and fashion industry. I'm pretty sure no one ever imagined that’s where my future would be.

What are your favorite colors and outfits that make up most of your closet?

My favorite colors are black, red, blue and gold! My closet is mainly ripped jeans (my favorite), v necks (long sleeve and short sleeves), funky over sized jackets, booties, and designer belts!

What trends are big in your city?

Dallas is BIG on booties and designer accessories!

What is your favorite brand/designer? What do you like about that brand?

I would say Gucci is my favorite designer brand. I love how the brand has shifted and transformed itself into this cultural/hip entity that represents us, the millennial's, and our desire to be different and stand out! Gucci is a perfect example of how changes in management (the dream team, CEO and creative director) and a real understanding of the POWER of the digital world can make a brand have an outstanding comeback. Got rid of the old and boring and gave life back to the brand... They've truly cracked the code!

Adriana Melara

Which actresses or models do you believe have the best style?

This is not really an actress or a model since I do not follow many. But I consider Bad Bunny to have one of the most bad ass styles in the industry. He is so fresh, unique and outside the "comfort zone". I love his vibes and everything that he represents.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years and what are your goals?

My goal is to inspire as many young people as I can into becoming the most beautiful version of themselves. I plan to do this by inspiring them, coaching them and sharing my story of how you can transform your life if you put enough effort into it. Nowadays people spend their lives doing things they don’t like or doing things just because the rest of the world does. I want young girls and boys to start working on their passions from a very early age that way they know their real strengths and have a chance of making these their future careers. In many Latin American countries, we are conditioned by society to simply be one more fish in the sea. I want to make them all feel like they are the coolest unique creature in the sea. I see myself doing this for a living, currently working on the business plan for it!
