In post Fenty Beauty world many makeup brands are trying to set up their game with adding more color shades to their brands but we really should be looking at these small owned businesses run by women of color who not only inspire us but are major boss babes and have shown success in their beauty products. As we are towards the end of Black History Month we wanted to share some major boss babes!
Mented Cosmetics started with finding the perfect nude for KJ Miller and Amanda E. Johnson who both run this big company. The best part is that all their lipsticks are vegan, paraben-free, non-toxic, cruelty free, and proudly made in the USA.
Base Butter is a skin care beauty brand who are creators of the #1 Aloe Vera gel based moisturizer for PH balance and hydrated skin. Founder She’Neil Johnson's own struggles with acne, therefore this inspired her to make the line include a moisturizing facial "jelly" and body cream.
Blade + Bloom is a Eco-conscious brand that are handmade in Chicago with a focus on creating 100% plant-based skincare and candle products with amazing scents.
Juvia’s Place is a beauty brand mainly focused for their eye-shadow palettes which are truly bright and colorful. Chichi Eburu made a name for herself when she launched in 2013 and has been blooming with all the best high pigment colors she creates for her consumer.
