What do you like about being Latina?

The passion that my culture has for everything in life...family, food, music (and right now the World Cup ha!) I grew up with my El Salvadorian grandmother who helped to raise me along with my mother. I have fond memories of being surrounded with love (and there was always delicious fresh pupusas on the table! ;)) and family. In my Latin family, my grandmother was everything. She was the center of our family and brought everyone together.

What’s something about you that people would be surprised to know?
Most people don't know that I am half Latina, and that my mother comes from a country in Central America! They think that since I have darker skin tone, that I am from a different ethnicity but I embrace both my El Salvadorian and African American cultures.

What are your favorite colors and outfits that make up most of your closet?

My favorite colors change from season to season. But what seems to stick are pastel blues and coral or peach tones. Right now, however, the color red is actually taking up the majority of my closet!

What trends are big in your city?

I live in a small desert city in Arizona and right now midi skirts and rompers are really in. There is a more laid-back look here which I love. It's also very hot where I live so you have to wear what makes you feel cool and often times that is a pair of high-waisted shorts!

What is your favorite brand/designer? What do you like about that brand?

My all-time favorite brand would have to be Chloé . I've always been a huge fan of their feminine, "Parisian-chic" styles. If a brand can make a beautiful white dress that you can wear to the market during the day and then out at night, then I'm sold! I think Chloé does that well. And their shoes are out of this world beautiful!

Which actresses or models do you believe have the best style?

I love model Bella Hadid's style. She is not afraid to show off her stunning figure and I like that she has a bit of an edgy look to her outfits. My next choice is not a model or actress but a blogger. I really love Julie Sariñana's style. She too is Latina and I've been a fan of her for years!

Where do you see yourself in 5 years and what are your goals?

I see myself continuing to blog and to do so full-time. My goal is hopefully work with a brand or fashion house in a dream collaboration!

What do you like about being Latina?

We love our bodies and we are generally happier. We try to spice our lives every day in everything we do.

What’s something about you that people would be surprised to know?
I am a fashion blogger and fashion is my Passion but people don’t know that I studied International Foreign Affairs (I wanted to be a Diplomat) and I  work in Telecommunications (Marketing). I always wanted to be a fashion designer so I have designed collections in the past.

What are your favorite colors and outfits that make up most of your closet?

Love a colorful closet! I love to put color in my life and you can notice it in my closet LOL. I love pastels, red, and blue.

What trends are big in your city?

I live in Miami now and fashion is different here than in Europe where I was living before. In my city, colors and tight clothing is usually the trend, my style is a mix of the places where I have lived (Spain – Argentina -Miami). In Miami we have spring/summer all year, so the trends are mini dresses, shorts, espadrilles, and crochets with colors and flowers. I think the fashion in Miami is evolving and this city will soon be one of the most important cities in fashion. It is the U.S bridge with Latin America.

What is your favorite brand/designer? What do you like about that brand?

I love Alexander McQueen, his designs were pieces of art and his idea was always empowering women. I also love Anthony Vaccarelo, and his work in Versace and now YSL which is impeccable, his designs are the definition of female sensuality.

What do you like about being Latina?

This questions is so hard to answer since I love everything about being Latina. I'm extremely proud of my Mexican culture, the ancient traditions, the cuisine (spicy food), the tight community and I love the passion we put into things.

What’s something about you that people would be surprised to know?

Many people doesn’t know this but I have a passion for cars, especially fast ones. I enjoy driving through highways and just admiring the landscapes.

What are your favorite colors and outfits that make up most of your closet?

If I have to choose one color it would be definitely be gold but among my favorites are blue and pink. My closet it is filled with street style clothing but I have to say that I have a weakness for high heels so I have a great collection of shoes, and every time I can I buy new pairs, it's my guilty pleasure.

What trends are big in your city?

Since I live in the Yucatan Peninsula, the weather conditions are extremely warm so shorts and crop tops are the main thing to wear throughout summer, but the main trend right now are oversized shirts combined with denim jeans and high heels.

What do you like about being Latina?

I think growing up Latina in the U.S. gave me the awareness of how beautiful different cultures merging together is. To this day I still see it as an advantage. To be able to understand, from a young age, that we are not all necessarily raised the same and the fact that we might not all think/look the same is not a bad thing. If anything it is something we should encourage. To be able to learn from one another is invaluable. Oh and the FOOD. Tacos, lots of tacos.

What’s something about you that people would be surprised to know?

Read the question above… most people are shocked to hear that I’m Latina but more specifically Mexican. I love to break that preconceived notion they might have regarding what a Mexican should “look like”. I love to be a representation of the beautiful country that my family is from.

What are your favorite colors and outfits that make up most of your closet?

BLACK. It’s so versatile to transition from day to night wear and so easy to mix and match with other pieces.

What is your favorite brand/designer? What do you like about that brand?

To be honest I’m not really into dressing myself based off of certain brands/designers. Although I can admire a designer’s style and quality pieces I prefer to choose pieces that are not only appealing to me but that I also feel the most comfortable in. That’s when you’re able to be your most confident self. Comfort is key regardless of the brand.

Which actresses or models do you believe have the best style?

I love Sophia Miacova’s style, she continuously looks so effortless yet trendy. The same goes for Julie Sarinana. I love to look through their instagram’s for inspiration.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years and what are your goals?

I’ve learned that plans are meant to be changed and that sometimes what you think you might want now is the complete opposite in the future. Nonetheless, I firmly believe that setting goals and plans in order to attain those goals is important. In 5 years I would like to see myself furthering my brand and community. As well as implementing initiatives to make a positive influence within my community. I would love to have my own non-profit organization. I just want to be able to help others with my influence

What’s something about you that people would be surprised to know?

I have two things that I think people would be surprised by. First is that I am a professional dancer, I've made a living off of dancing professionally for 12 years and have been dancing since I was 3 years old. I've worked with many artists in award shows, TV shows, and music videos. I also own my own clothing line called Immaculate Streetwear.

What is your favorite brand/designer? What do you like about that brand?

I honestly don't have a favorite brand or designer. I love fashion so no matter where its from or what brand it is, if its something I like I will rock it. But a store that I am loving at the moment is Misguided. I love their style and all of their pieces.

What are your favorite colors that make up most of your closet?

I love black! I seriously can't get over it. I really try to mix it up and force myself to wear more color but its definitely difficult. I mostly have black, white, and grey in my closet.

What is your favorite outfit in your closet?

I've been really into co-ord sets lately!! I love everything about them and how effortlessly chic they are.

What trends are big in your city?

I live in Miami where trends don't really become trends here because its so hot. But for me and my style I would say the casual chic trend is in. Meaning looking all cute in this chic outfit but dressing it down with sneakers. Comfy and fly!!

What do you like about being Latina?

Latina women have overcome many adversities and have faced a number of obstacles, but we've still managed to maintain a positive and vibrant outlook on life full of gratitude and resilience. That's what I love the most about being Latina.

What’s something about you that people would be surprised to know?
.I think what most people would be surprised to learn about me is that I truly enjoy giving back to my community, I’m also passionate about a number of causes. I religiously volunteer every Thanksgiving with God’s Love We Deliver and The Birthday Party Project. I also am the founder of my own non-profit organization called the Everyday Counts Foundation. My family and I began the organization in honor of my mother who passed away from duodenal cancer in 2013. You can read more about our organization here.Lastly, after catching up with an old friend who thought I was “bougie” simply based off my pictures I think people would be surprised to know that I can be very down to earth. I’ve worked very hard in my 22 years of life and every single “luxury” item I own I’ve worked hard for myself, or had a great “hook up” haha!

What are your favorite colors and outfits that make up most of your closet?

Black is definitely the signature color of New York, and as a true New Yorker my closet is filled with endless amounts of black colored clothing and accessories However, I also LOVE bright colors and prints I guess it’s the Caribbean girl in me. I love to color block and bold jewel tone colors and fun floral prints are my fave. Especially in the winter I like to mix textures and fabrics!

What trends are big in your city?

I live in the New York so as you could imagine trends are constantly changing, it’s so hard to keep up!! I really get a lot of inspiration from simply riding the subway and seeing who’s wearing what in what borough, I truly see some fabulous outfits on the train. I’m from the Bronx (the best borough in NY, not up for argument) haha! I think street style urban-wear is huge here also mixing luxury brands with more affordable brands.

What is your favorite brand/designer? What do you like about that brand?

Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Stella McCartney and Phillip Lim, are some of my favorite luxury designers and I hope to be able to afford them all one day! These brands are all classics in my book and they make staple pieces that can last a lifetime in your closet.

Which actresses or models do you believe have the best style?

I'm torn between Becky G and JLO! These two Latina beauties manage to be stylish, elegant, alluring and sexy. I also have a weak spot for Cardi B, I appreciate her risks on the red carpet and she manages to wear something we wouldn't expect. Keep us guessing!

Where do you see yourself in 5 years and what are your goals?

In five years I see myself having graduated with my Bachelor's degree and working in the fashion industry. Ideally as an Account Executive or for a magazine publication, I'd love for my blog to reach as many people as possible. I want to continue advocating for as many causes as possible and to overall wake up everyday as a happy individual loving what I do!

What do you like about being Latina?

There’s something about being Latina that puts a little pep in my step. Whether it be the salsa music that makes my feet move on their own, or the long days before a fiesta preparing food for 100 family guests with mami, or just knowing that my culture is so full of traditions and beautiful hard-working people. These are the reasons why it always prides me to say I am Latina.

What’s something about you that people would be surprised to know?
As a little girl I developed a love for singing and dancing and always imagined myself as the next Selena! I ended up pursuing music in college where I studied Vocal Performance with a focus in Opera. Currently I sing locally in bands or with my best friend Noe on the guitar.

What are your favorite colors and outfits that make up most of your closet?

I embrace my tan skin by wearing bright colors that make it glow, so orange and yellow are a must in my closet! I also keep enough classic black and white pieces to pair with my fun pieces! Crop and off the shoulder tops are also a must. Crop tops because of my short torso and off the shoulder is just the right amount of flirty.

What trends are big in your city?

Austin is the music capital of the world so it’s music festival season all year long! We are known for our hippie vibes and for our “Keep Austin Weird” motto so that should paint a picture for you :). Because we are such a diverse city, you will find a little bit of everything here.

What is your favorite brand/designer? What do you like about that brand?

Currently I’m obsessed with Zara. I just love their timeless pieces and their unique style. I know I can shop for everything, from clothes for work to what to wear for a girls night out! I love the daring European style.

Which actresses or models do you believe have the best style?

Jennifer Lopez is my spirit animal. I hope I age as gracefully as she has, I mean she's killing it with her style, music, and body #goals! Alejandra Espinoza is my other favorite, not just because of her great style but because she's come so far after winning the first season of Nuestra Belleza Latina on Univision and has become an inspiration for all young Latina women.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years and what are your goals?

In 5 years I want to reach my financial goals to be able to travel more frequently and really submerge myself into different cultures. I find it fascinating to see how other cultures live. I also want to learn a third language, buy a home, maybe get back into the music industry, and have my foot well in the fashion styling world. Through my blog I want to be able to empower other Latina's to take risks and to follow their dreams!

What do you like about being Latina?

Being a Latina not only means being someone that was born in a Latin American country. It means so much more. To me, being a Latina means that no matter where you were born you have been raised to be strong and have learned that hard work pays off, if only you put your mind to it. It means that your color skin doesn't define you and that you will never be alone because you will always have your family behind you. Being a Latina means that you will develop the best palate in the world because you trained your mouth to experience the best food and not only in one language. Nevertheless being a Latina means rhythm as with any music it will have you shaking to your toes. Being a Latina means being strong, confident, kind and beautiful.

What’s something about you that people would be surprised to know?
One thing that most people don't know is that I used to (still do once in a while) belly dance. I grew up being a dancer, from jazz to ballet to contemporary to folklore. But the one dance that stayed with me forever was belly dancing. There is something about the music and the culture that attracts me so much, and that's not the only reason I like it, it's also a great way to get fit and get your workout done in a fun way.

What are your favorite colors and outfits that make up most of your closet?

I love light colors, from whites to nudes but also the classic black. I am also not afraid to use colors depending on the occasion. I would classify my style as sophisticated-romantic or classic-chic. I love to try new trends, and I love to accessorize with statement pieces if the garment needs it. When shopping I always try to look for stylish pieces that are striking and smart and will favor my figure.

What trends are big in your city?

In Dallas, you can get the best of both worlds. And if you are country at heart, this is the city for you, from boots to cowboy hats you find the best selection here in the heart of Texas. But don't let me just emphasize western fashion only. In Dallas, you can be a boss babe as it is a mecca of corporate headquarters with companies such as J.C. Penney and Neiman Marcus, but also it's the host to many more shopping venues where you can find brands such as Prada, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Rolex, etc. Lastly, Dallas is a melting pot, where cultures have so much influence in our everyday trends, so finding your style, is just a matter of finding who you are and what you like, as the city will provide it for you.

What is your favorite brand/designer? What do you like about that brand?

I am a Chanel girl. From the beginnings of the brand with Coco Chanel til now, being in the hands of Karl Lagerfeld the brand has revolutionized as the years pass but has kept the iconic and classic style that everybody loves. To me, Chanel means sophistication and class, and the craftsmanship is seriously one of the most detailed in the fashion industry. Not only that but every single piece is unique, and I love the fact that can be passed on through generations, just like the brand itself. Lastly, I am very intrigued by the way Karl Lagerfeld has introduced Chanel to the modern day "IT" girl. Who would have thought that this iconic brand would end up as a must-have piece for street style fashion?

Which actresses or models do you believe have the best style?

For this question, I can't just choose a model, or a designer or an actress that have the best style. I idolize and love so many amazing women that have shaped the way I see fashion. From iconic legends such as Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, and Marilyn Monroe. To modern showstoppers such like Kate Middleton (Duchess of Cambridge), the Hadid sisters (Gigi and Bella), Zendaya, Rihanna, Angelina Jolie, Selena Gomez, Lady Gaga, Salma Hayek, Gal Gadot, and Olivia Palermo. Every single one of these women has such an unusual and unique fashion sense that have put them on the map as the most fashionable icons in the world.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years and what are your goals?

Currently, I work as a bilingual social media manager for a company in Dallas, TX and I run a beauty, lifestyle and travel blog called thedailysash.com where I share my everyday experiences with young women who have the same likes and struggles as me. I plan on keep moving forward with my passion for social media and search engine optimization. I believe that the power of social media and e-commerce is taking the world by storm and if people learn to use it properly, it can become a giant asset which we need to take advantage of. Hopefully, I can turn my passion into a business in the near future where I can expand my blog into a place where people can come and find a community, especially young Latinas.
