What do you like about being Latina?
There’s something about being Latina that puts a little pep in my step. Whether it be the salsa music that makes my feet move on their own, or the long days before a fiesta preparing food for 100 family guests with mami, or just knowing that my culture is so full of traditions and beautiful hard-working people. These are the reasons why it always prides me to say I am Latina.
What’s something about you that people would be surprised to know?
As a little girl I developed a love for singing and dancing and always imagined myself as the next Selena! I ended up pursuing music in college where I studied Vocal Performance with a focus in Opera. Currently I sing locally in bands or with my best friend Noe on the guitar. What are your favorite colors and outfits that make up most of your closet?
I embrace my tan skin by wearing bright colors that make it glow, so orange and yellow are a must in my closet! I also keep enough classic black and white pieces to pair with my fun pieces! Crop and off the shoulder tops are also a must. Crop tops because of my short torso and off the shoulder is just the right amount of flirty.
What trends are big in your city?
Austin is the music capital of the world so it’s music festival season all year long! We are known for our hippie vibes and for our “Keep Austin Weird” motto so that should paint a picture for you :). Because we are such a diverse city, you will find a little bit of everything here.
What is your favorite brand/designer? What do you like about that brand?
Currently I’m obsessed with Zara. I just love their timeless pieces and their unique style. I know I can shop for everything, from clothes for work to what to wear for a girls night out! I love the daring European style.
Which actresses or models do you believe have the best style?
Jennifer Lopez is my spirit animal. I hope I age as gracefully as she has, I mean she's killing it with her style, music, and body #goals! Alejandra Espinoza is my other favorite, not just because of her great style but because she's come so far after winning the first season of Nuestra Belleza Latina on Univision and has become an inspiration for all young Latina women.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years and what are your goals?
In 5 years I want to reach my financial goals to be able to travel more frequently and really submerge myself into different cultures. I find it fascinating to see how other cultures live. I also want to learn a third language, buy a home, maybe get back into the music industry, and have my foot well in the fashion styling world. Through my blog I want to be able to empower other Latina's to take risks and to follow their dreams!
