What do you like about being Latina?

I love everything about being Latina, but the thing I love the most is how we pursue the things we wish for! If we want something we work hard to make it happen. We are passionate and we love and feel so deeply that it just feels magical, Latina's are really something else. So damn beautiful on the outside but most importantly on the inside.

What’s something about you that people would be surprised to know?

Most people think that I'm a “daddy's girl” because they think I have the “perfect life” but I'm proud to say that I fight for what I want and I get things on my own. Sometimes I struggle a lot but the magic happens when you stand up against obstacles in life.

What are your favorite colors and outfits that make up most of your closet?

I would say that it depends on my mood, I personally think that you can really express yourself with your outfit. White and denim is my favorite combo with a good pair of shoes. I’m more of a basic outfit type of girl with a touch of a little something that will make a difference.

What trends are big in your city?

Floral shirts, polka dots, denim skirts and crazy shoes.

Maria Jose Rivas
Which actresses or models do you believe have the best style?

Olivia Jade! I think her outfits are stylish and comfortable.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years and what are your goals?

I see my self as a enterprising girl but not only in the fashion or makeup industry but also helping my people prosper. My biggest wish is to make a difference in this world, even if it is something really small.

What do you like about being Latina?

I like our culture because of our way of seeing life, our desire to undertake new projects and our willpower. And in the aspect of being a blogger without a doubt our desire and enthusiasm to try fashion and makeup trends.

What’s something about you that people would be surprised to know?
They would be surprised by my passion for reading, particularly historical novels and also how I like to dance while I try on and combine clothes, it's a whole game for me.

What are your favorite colors and outfits that make up most of your closet?

My favorite colors to wear depends on the time of year. In winter undoubtedly navy blue and brown and in spring/summer bright colors; but I also have loved white, pink and yellow for a while now! In my wardrobe, there is no shortage of colorful and basic garments to combine all year round.

What trends are big in your city?

This spring/summer my city is trending with a lot of yellow and polka dot prints in many different colors. Also lace bodysuits, midi skirts, palazzo pants and colorful clothes that can give versatility to looks.

What is your favorite brand/designer? What do you like about that brand?

I do not have a favorite designer because what I usually like is the garment. It can be expensive or low cost. I think combining styles is fun and you do not find everything from a single brand or designer. I do really like Zara's clothes, they have everything on trend and new things are always coming in. The stores that I like to dress more from are Zara and Mango. Although Guess also goes a lot with my style!

Where do you see yourself in 5 years and what are your goals?

5 years from now I see myself improving and would like to reach a wider audience, reach other brands and be able to teach different styles and places. Always enjoying and engaging with my followers. I hope that in that time; more brands trust me and I can expand my goals little by little. Who knows; maybe get to create ...

What do you like about being Latina?

Being a Latina not only means being someone that was born in a Latin American country. It means so much more. To me, being a Latina means that no matter where you were born you have been raised to be strong and have learned that hard work pays off, if only you put your mind to it. It means that your color skin doesn't define you and that you will never be alone because you will always have your family behind you. Being a Latina means that you will develop the best palate in the world because you trained your mouth to experience the best food and not only in one language. Nevertheless being a Latina means rhythm as with any music it will have you shaking to your toes. Being a Latina means being strong, confident, kind and beautiful.

What’s something about you that people would be surprised to know?
One thing that most people don't know is that I used to (still do once in a while) belly dance. I grew up being a dancer, from jazz to ballet to contemporary to folklore. But the one dance that stayed with me forever was belly dancing. There is something about the music and the culture that attracts me so much, and that's not the only reason I like it, it's also a great way to get fit and get your workout done in a fun way.

What are your favorite colors and outfits that make up most of your closet?

I love light colors, from whites to nudes but also the classic black. I am also not afraid to use colors depending on the occasion. I would classify my style as sophisticated-romantic or classic-chic. I love to try new trends, and I love to accessorize with statement pieces if the garment needs it. When shopping I always try to look for stylish pieces that are striking and smart and will favor my figure.

What trends are big in your city?

In Dallas, you can get the best of both worlds. And if you are country at heart, this is the city for you, from boots to cowboy hats you find the best selection here in the heart of Texas. But don't let me just emphasize western fashion only. In Dallas, you can be a boss babe as it is a mecca of corporate headquarters with companies such as J.C. Penney and Neiman Marcus, but also it's the host to many more shopping venues where you can find brands such as Prada, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Rolex, etc. Lastly, Dallas is a melting pot, where cultures have so much influence in our everyday trends, so finding your style, is just a matter of finding who you are and what you like, as the city will provide it for you.

What is your favorite brand/designer? What do you like about that brand?

I am a Chanel girl. From the beginnings of the brand with Coco Chanel til now, being in the hands of Karl Lagerfeld the brand has revolutionized as the years pass but has kept the iconic and classic style that everybody loves. To me, Chanel means sophistication and class, and the craftsmanship is seriously one of the most detailed in the fashion industry. Not only that but every single piece is unique, and I love the fact that can be passed on through generations, just like the brand itself. Lastly, I am very intrigued by the way Karl Lagerfeld has introduced Chanel to the modern day "IT" girl. Who would have thought that this iconic brand would end up as a must-have piece for street style fashion?

Which actresses or models do you believe have the best style?

For this question, I can't just choose a model, or a designer or an actress that have the best style. I idolize and love so many amazing women that have shaped the way I see fashion. From iconic legends such as Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, and Marilyn Monroe. To modern showstoppers such like Kate Middleton (Duchess of Cambridge), the Hadid sisters (Gigi and Bella), Zendaya, Rihanna, Angelina Jolie, Selena Gomez, Lady Gaga, Salma Hayek, Gal Gadot, and Olivia Palermo. Every single one of these women has such an unusual and unique fashion sense that have put them on the map as the most fashionable icons in the world.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years and what are your goals?

Currently, I work as a bilingual social media manager for a company in Dallas, TX and I run a beauty, lifestyle and travel blog called thedailysash.com where I share my everyday experiences with young women who have the same likes and struggles as me. I plan on keep moving forward with my passion for social media and search engine optimization. I believe that the power of social media and e-commerce is taking the world by storm and if people learn to use it properly, it can become a giant asset which we need to take advantage of. Hopefully, I can turn my passion into a business in the near future where I can expand my blog into a place where people can come and find a community, especially young Latinas.

What do you like about being Latina?

I love how rich and vibrant my culture is. I'm very proud of being morena, I love to wear bright colors and how they look against my skin tone. I love that being a Latina means having a wider view of the world through the many nationalities that make up our community and sharing the same beautiful Spanish language. Shout out to my fellow Mexicans!

What’s something about you that people would be surprised to know?
My husband and I own a Sign business, and to the surprise of many I am quite the handy woman! I'm often climbing ladders, doing electrical work inside crevices and driving our bucket truck. I'm also quite savvy using power tools; I can find you any drill bit and properly attach it to the drill within seconds! You can catch me wearing work boots and a ponytail on my Snapchat (mystyleboxx)!

What are your favorite colors and outfits that make up most of your closet?

I would describe my closet as an organized mess, simply because I buy what I like without rhyme or reason. You can find a torn up band tee hung right next to a Blair Waldorf inspired pleaded skirt. Most of my favorite pieces don't follow one particular style; rather they represent very different aspects of my personality. However like most I'm a sucker for a good ol' all black look!

What trends are big in your city?

Albuquerque is very driven by its culture. On any given day you can find someone rocking turquoise jewelry and sandals! The mixture of Hispanic and Native American influences makes for unique southwestern trends that manifest themselves to the young and mature. From fringes to pom poms everyone expresses themselves through their own style and that’s one of the many reasons why I love my city!

What is your favorite brand/designer? What do you like about that brand?

Some of my favorite stores to shop are the usual suspects, Forever21, Express, Rue21, etc. And I dabble on some online shopping from Fashion Nova, Boohoo and Lolashoetique. However you will often find me looking though the racks at Marshall's and Tj maxx because above and beyond brands I'm most drawn to purchasing trendy beautiful items that won't break the bank.

Which actresses or models do you believe have the best style?

I love Vanessa Hudgens! She has an eccentric earthy boho chic look about her that inspires me. Her unique style, although not similar to mine, is truly one of my favorites, as she expresses her true self in a way that makes me aspire to do the same. I am most obsessed with the elegance and simplicity that Alejandra Espinoza (Mexican model) radiates through her effortless style! I can always count on her outfits to give me some #ootd ideas of my own!

Where do you see yourself in 5 years and what are your goals?

I see my self growing, in every single aspect of life. Growing as a human, learning more about other cultures, respecting others’ views, being more woke, expanding my knowledge, growing financially, becoming a better wife, daughter, sister and friend, traveling and falling in love with every place I visit. I see me loving myself more and accepting myself more. I strive to be a better version of myself everyday. My goals are endless, but above all I want to be able to inspire others through my makeup, style, and most importantly my personality! I want to keep on living my best life!

What do you like about being Latina?

What I like the most about being Latina is our humor, we have the most beautiful language, we carry romanticism in our blood, us women are impeccable and we take care of our appearance. We have the best music to dance to and without doubt the best food.

What’s something about you that people would be surprised to know?

God has given me many gifts and a lot of talent in different aspects.

What are your favorite colors and outfits that make up most of your closet?

I love pastel colors, most of my wardrobe is composed of jumpsuits since they make me feel super comfortable and they're perfect for any occasion.

What trends are big in your city?

The latest trends in Puerto Rico are handbags that are not just any bag, they are the small style bag with a key chain that although it's not something incredible it does give a more feminine touch. Retro style cat glasses, which incidentally is a very IN accessory at the moment and one of the most used in trends. Berets which makes outfits more cool. And finally polka dots on clothing, which gives a touch of spring.

Yelle Rivet
Yelle Rivet
Yelle Rivet
What is your favorite brand/designer? What do you like about that brand?

I do not have a favorite brand since I love all fashion. Most of my clothes are from Forever 21 and Brandy Melville because I love the quality of the clothes and there are many styles and sets to choose from. My favorite designer is Coco Chanel, I love her bags and her glasses which entail striking bright colors and unique styles.

Which actresses or models do you believe have the best style?

I really like the style of the Spanish Influencer named "Lovely Pepa" aka Alexandra Pereira since she is very me and at the same time very much her. Her tropical and trendy style and her way of wearing it and complementing it makes it more authentic.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years and what are your goals?

Even if I do not think about it, I am one of the persons who prefers that everything just flows, as the best things arrive without waiting for them. Although it is not bad to think about it, I would love that in 5 years I'm officially a professional fashion designer and have many ideas to create a lot of content for my blog.

My goals would be to progress my blog, launch my line of clothing and accessories, develop more in photography, maintain a healthier life, contribute something good for society and finish writing my book.
