What do you like about being Latina?

Every single time I tell people I’m Puerto Rican. I love it! I think it’s hilarious to see their surprised faces, and its always an opportunity to open the conversation about diversity, especially in the fashion and entertainment industry. People have a stereotype of how Latinos and Puerto Ricans look like, and I enjoy witnessing my contribution to change that. I also love pronouncing my full name in Spanish. It confuses people haha.

What’s something about you that people would be surprised to know?

Some people think I am an “only child”, but no. I have an older sister and a younger brother, and they are the most precious thing in my life. Most of my personality and creativity comes from growing up with them. We are SUPER loud and crazy when we are together, and they’re always there when I need them. And, we know all of Jim Carry’s lines on Ace Ventura Pet Detective. lol!

What are your favorite colors and outfits that make up most of your closet?

What, where, how, when, and with who. Those are the questions I ask myself before I get dressed. It all depends on the circumstances, and I have a closet that’s perfect for that. Basic items (pencil skirts, tank tops, blouses, jeans, little-black-dresses) let me mix and match to always create a new outfit. Color palate stays around the cool, darker tones; black is inevitable. Overall, my look is simple, effortless and elegant.

What trends are big in your city?

I’ll say, the trend in New York City is to follow your own style. There’s such beautiful diversity of cultures and lifestyles, everyone expresses themselves in a unique style. Some people like to be comfy and warm, some people embody their lifestyle and beliefs; the majority wears black, and then there’s people who wear bright colors and patterns. It all comes down to knowing yourself and wearing what makes you feel good.

What is your favorite brand/designer? What do you like about that brand?

I am currently infatuated with Rebecca Minkoff shoes. They are so elegant, yet comfortable. I’m also in love with New Vie Shop jewelry; they add a touch of elegance and simplicity to any look. Both perfect for someone who walks around the city every day and wants to look like you thought about your outfit, head to toe.

Which actresses or models do you believe have the best style?

Ashley Graham! She exudes such confidence and happiness. I think it’s sexy! Seeing her change the industry by doing what she loves while empowering women. THAT is a style I want to copy. Emma Watson and Marie Forleo are also women that I admire, not just for what they wear but for what they do and represent.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years and what are your goals?

My ultimate goal in life is to empower women and young girls to live a confident life without fear. I want to inspire them to take control and action towards their dreams, using tools I had to learn myself, like, mindfulness, creative expression and meditation. Longer term, I see myself having my own established production/consulting/education brand, probably within the fashion and entertainment industry, and then traveling the world as a speaker sharing all of it. In the meantime, in the coming few years, I see myself working with top commercial and high-end brands in print and tv, and making appearances in mainstream media like tv shows, digital series, and movies.

What do you like about being Latina?

I love being Latina because there's so much diversity within our people. When you think of a Latina, there isn't one particular look that comes to mind because we all come in different shapes, colors and accents. That's the beauty of being a Latina.

What’s something about you that people would be surprised to know?

People would be surprised to know that I used to practice kickboxing and play soccer. I used to be a total tomboy since I grew up with all boys in my family. That's one of the main reasons why I always stood up for myself when bullies crossed my way.

What are your favorite colors and outfits that make up most of your closet?

I have my closet color coordinated but as I take a look, black seems to take over, even though I love pastel & nude colors. My favorite outfits are a combination of chic and formal casual. I'll wear a beanie with a blazer then throw on some thigh high boots. Just because.

What trends are big in your city?

I attend SFSU, and it seems to me that most of the style trends are going back to the 90's. The styles are urban but with a little 90's flavor to it; chokers, high waisted jeans with high rise and sunflower croptops. Very neat!

What is your favorite brand/designer? What do you like about that brand?

I'm a very simple girl. Since I have a curvy body, it's whatever can fit and look good on me. I shop everywhere so I don't have a specific place where I shop. I do like brands such as BCBG, Guess and Pink. My favorite designer of all times is Carolina Herrera.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years and what are your goals?

Where do I see myself in five years? I see myself owning multiple businesses, working in a major production company as a director/ screenwriter or owning my own production company, working full time as an actress and possibly thinking of children.

Which actresses or models do you believe have the best style?

My personal favorites are Victoria Beckham, Emma Watson & Jennifer Lopez. They kill it every time.

What trends are big in your city?

New York is the city of fashion. Everyone loves black, jeans and black boots with a shirt is perfect for being trendy in this beautiful city. In Puerto Rico we have beautiful beaches, so the perfect trend is something more tropical and chic.

What’s something about you that people would be surprised to know?

I think what people would be surprised to know about me is that I am very simple, people who do not know me would love me, I am a very authentic, humble and loving girl ... Sometimes social media makes other people have a wrong reflection of you. Sometimes we judge because of what we see in social media, but often the people we judge are the people with more feelings, humility, and charisma than many others. I am very simple, people who do not know me would love me, I am a very authentic, humble and loving girl.

What are your favorite colors and outfits that make up most of your closet?

If you see my closet, everything is black. So definitely my favorite color is black.

Latinas have that "chispa" that no other person has... We have that "swing" on our hips that makes us feel sexy. Latinas are very nice, we make friends fairly easy. Studies show that Latinos are the friendliest people in the world. Latinos are hard working people, entrepreneurs and we fight for what we want. That is one of the things that I admire most, the desire to work, and offer the best to your family. We take the risk, we leave our countries, to go and search for a better life in another country, many times we do not even know the language, and that makes us strong, determined, confident and independent. Of course Latin food is the best in world!

What is your favorite brand/designer? What do you like about that brand?

Michael Costello because it's sexy, chic, confident and elegant. Versace because it's sexy and awesome. Chanel because it is classic and elegant. I love Dolce&Gabbana, it's chic, sexual, exotic and sophisticated. All in one.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years and what are your goals?

This year I have a great project and it's one of my big dreams. I am preparing myself to compete in Miss Puerto Rico Universe, if God allows it and I can win, then I will go for everything and with all my energy bring the 6th Crown to Puerto Rico which since 2006 we have not been able to bring it back. I am very sure of myself, and of the plan that God has for me. In 5 years I will definitely have my own agency to scout Latin models and send them to the American market, just as how I achieved my dream of being signed by international agencies, I would be happy to help other Latina girls achieve that dream...

What do you love about being Latina?

As a Latina woman, there are many cultural things that I like. I love our delicious traditional food, such as tacos, tamales, pozole, enchiladas, etc. Aside from our delicious food. I love not only being Latina but also looking like one! I'm 100% Hispanic/Latina and I represent.

What’s something about you that people would be surprised to know?

Something that people don't really know about me, is that I'm a teacher. Aside from having a huge love for fashion, TV hosting and pop culture, and the fact that I wanna be a well known "Fashion Designer" one day. I also have a special passion that is very close to my heart for children with disabilities. That is why I proudly hold a 'Bachelor's degree' in 'special needs' with a minor focusing in 'Intellectual area'.

What trends are big in your city?

I feel like every person in my precious town is very unique. In a way we all are trendsetters.

Which actresses or models do you believe have the best style?

Former Miss Universe "Olivia Culpo", "Kendall Jenner" and "Blake Lively".

What is your favorite brand/designer? What do you like about that brand?

I like so many brands. But for my day-to-day life, I like "Windsor" fashion, and I absolutely love the high-end brand Chanel (Coco Chanel).

Where do you see yourself in 5 years and what are your goals?

I always see myself being a successful woman and fulfilling my dreams.

What are your favorite colors and outfits that make up most of your closet?

My daily fashion changes with my mood, but Im very attracted to elegance.
