What do you love about being Latina?

Being a Latina means being proud of my culture and I embrace everything that it has to offer. Latina is not only an ethnicity but a way of life.

What’s something about you that people would be surprised to know?

This year I was fortunate enough to take some time off and travel to Panama to deliver medical supplies to the less fortunate. It was an unforgettable experience knowing that because of my mission team, we were able to put a smile on the people's faces. Next year my team and I will be traveling to Peru to put more smiles on faces.

What trends are big in your city?

Since I live in a big city, Chicago has a lot to offer like rooftop restaurants and lounges with an amazing view of our beautiful skyline. One of the biggest fashion trends I tend to see is high-waisted jeans. Definitely a staple in your wardrobe.

What is your favorite brand/designer? What do you like about that brand?

My favorite brand has to be Chanel. They’re always having the latest trends by mixing old with the new. That brand has everything from makeup which I love, to bags, shoes, and clothes. One of my favorite quotes from Chanel is “ Fashion is always in the time that we live” by Gabrielle Chanel.

What are your favorite colors and outfits that make up most of your closet?

My favorite colors to wear are definitely a strong red and a fierce black. They make me feel strong, powerful like I could conquer the world.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years and what are your goals?

I see myself working as a clinical pharmacist in an Oncology Center and working on my own clothing line.

Which actresses or models do you believe have the best style?

I respectively admire Salma Hayek, but not because of her on-screen performances but because of her off-screen work. She is committed to helping women that have been affected by domestic violence and discrimination against immigrants. She also has a great sense of fashion.

What do you like about being Latina?

First, I love that being Latina makes me different in any setting. By standing out, it gives me the opportunity to share my experiences and educate others about our culture. Second, I love how prideful and rich our culture is. From traditions to the food, to the music, and the people, Latinos take pride in everything we have and everything we are. Last, I love how go-getter we are. We are willing to break barriers and push boundaries all to have a better life.

What are your favorite colors and outfits that make up most of your closet?

I incorporate a little bit from all sorts of styles but mostly my closet consists of neutral colors and basic pieces that I can reuse and style in any season and in different settings. Although, I do still have those pops of textures and colors that I can incorporate in a look depending on what I’m going for and on the season.

What trends are big in your city?

Since it’s still winter in Minnesota, faux fur, white boots, track pants, and long jackets are still very much in. And of course, flannel too. I mean this is the Mid-West LOL.

What is your favorite brand/designer? What do you like about that brand?

For the High-End I love Gucci and Versace. They have this sort of regal streetwear vibe that’s perfect for special occasions but also for everyday wear. Their accessories the last couple of seasons have also been so unique and honestly my favorites. For more affordable, I love ZARA for trendy, quality pieces and Target for everyday or casual wear.

Which actresses or models do you believe have the best style?

So many good ones but I love Kim Kardashian, Emma Watson, Emma Roberts, Jennifer Lopez, and Tammy Hembrow.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years and what are your goals?

In five years, I hope to inspire women by showing them that it is possible to have it all if they are willing to work hard. I hope to have a thriving career, a house, children of my own, a loving marriage, and time to continue to pursue my passions in beauty fashion.

What’s something about you that people would be surprised to know?

Though I love fashion and beauty, I also love Harry Potter. I’m a huge Harry Potter Nerd. I own all the movies, all the books, a wand, a scarf, and a sweater.

Aranxa Ramos

Tell me about yourself.

Hello my name is Aranxa Ramos, I'm 24 years old and currently living in San Francisco. I was born in Mexico City where my parents are from and been living in San Francisco since the age of 6, where my passion for fashion grew when I read my first Vogue magazine at that age. Since then my passion for the career hasn't changed and now I currently work for a stylist/ personal shopper where I'm learning the ropes of the industry. I also enjoy doing freelance shoots with photographers and models around the bay area.

What do you like about being Latino?

What I like about being Latina is that my culture is always with me, no matter where I end up living my roots of my culture will always follow me and I think that's beautiful.

What is your favorite color?

My favorite color is green but I also enjoy the color black even though technically is not really a color.

What's your favorite style?

I don't have a favorite style, I think that's why I love the fashion industry so much, everyone can create beautiful outfits no matter their style.

What are the items you always carry in your purse?

Top 5 items I carry in my purse: lip gloss, an oil based perfume, Aesop hand lotion, "boy brow" from Glossier, and blotting sheets (cause ya girl has very oily skin!).

What are your favorite brand of clothes?

My favorite brands of clothes are: Commes des Garcons, Acne Studios, A.P.C & Opening Ceremony.

Who was the role model growing up and how does that influence who you are today?

My role model growing up and even now has always been my dad, he is such a hard worker and always gives me the best life advice. I think I am so dedicated and hard worker because of my dad.

Which actor/actress or model has the best style according to your taste?

The actress/actor who has the best style according to me are the Olsen twins even though they don't act anymore.

What is your favorite Latino Dish?

My favorite Latino dish is posole, it's delicious on a cold day with some ponche!

What is your favorite thing to do?

My favorite thing to do is to go to a book/magazine store and spend hours there finding good books and fashion magazines to read.

What is a good life lesson that you would like to share with others?

One good lesson in life that I would like to share with you guys will be: "Always be nice to anyone you meet, you never know if you'll meet them in your future career paths.
