What do you like about being a Latina?
I love how charming Latinas are. We have a strong character and at the same time we are sweet and we give a hand to whoever needs it. We distinguish ourselves in any country we visit, they know that we are Latin when we enter a place, and that makes me so proud!
What does fashion mean to you and how would you define your style?
Fashion is a way of expressing ourselves with our clothing, it is what describes us. When we are sad sometimes it can be perceived by how we are dressed, even if we are happy. My style always depends on my mood, when I want to feel like a diva I make a huge production, I add accessories, shoes, but my style is usually tennis, shorts and a cute top, the more comfortable the better!
Who is your fashion icon?
I adore the international model Joan Smalls (also Puerto Rican) when she wants to be a diva she makes it work! And any other day, she still manages to look fabulous.
How does your culture influence your personal style?
It influences a lot, our culture is very colorful, full of life and that is how I feel, all my outfits must be colorful, with ruffles, full of life, I like to show my personality.
What actresses or models do you think have the best style?
I love Zendaya, her style is spectacular! She is sexy, innocent, diva and comfortable as she can be, she is the complete package and an inspiration.
If your life were a movie, what should the title be?
Where is Yuanilie? And Yuanilie is traveling the world living incredible experiences, meeting new cultures and facing challenges every day. Sure, right now I'm home but in the future I will be traveling a lot more (manifesting) and that will be a frequent question that they will ask me.
